WOMENS BJJ CLASS

Whether your interests are self-defense, improving fitness, competition, or to start a new hobby, the women’s BJJ class will help you to reach your individual goals. The curriculum is designed for women to gain confidence in a less intimidating atmosphere while learning an effective martial arts skill.

The women’s classes are set up to be both physically and intellectually challenging while learning techniques that can be used effectively by anyone no matter their stature or physical attributes.

A women’s only class takes away the concerns of having to be in an discouraging environment of mostly guys. You won’t have to concern yourself with getting crushed or bruised up from a much heavier opponent. We want each student to benefit from the class and have a rewarding experience.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu equips the student with the defensive tools to overcome or escape a stronger person. Having the ability to use the ground to neutralize or reverse the position of an attacker will give you the opportunity to get away. BJJ is a grappling style that you absolutely must know if you ever find yourself in a self defense situation. Statistics show that 80% of all violent acts will end up on the ground.

The women’s Jiu Jitsu classes will give you and effective method to improve and maintain physical fitness. Gain strength and conditioning from the resistance of your training partner during the drills and live training. Flexibility will improve from the constant movement of the hips to escape and the legs being used to defend and replace guard. An increase in overall fitness will reduce stress levels and keep you healthy.

The Mass Bay BJJ women’s class is an all belt rank class that is structured to be accessible to new practitioners while still offering the advanced students Jiu Jitsu techniques to expand their skills. Our classes will have the students using repetition from skill based drills to achieve a true understanding of positions and movements. Live training at the end of class will provide the opportunity to practice and apply the techniques learned in class.

We understand that some women prefer to be in an all ladies class. This does not restrict women from attending any of the other Jiu Jitsu classes; it merely provides them with the time to build up their comfort level if and when they choose to attend the other Mass Bay BJJ classes.

The Women’s Class Provides:

  • The ability to gain and keep a dominant position over your opponent
  • Learn to utilize leverage rather than strength or quickness
  • The confidence to execute submission techniques on the ground or standing
