Learn Jiu-Jitsu In Boston

Receive Technical and Detailed Instruction!

Mass Bay Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Boston focuses on teaching and training grappling techniques that can be done on a daily basis with no fear of injury. A student can expect to gain a deep understanding of the workings and limits of the human body.

The Majority of Jiu-Jitsu Practitioners

Most students take up Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for recreational purposes and over time BJJ becomes a life-style that supplies the individual with many benefits. GI grappling is an easy sport to learn as well as an enjoyable form of exercise that will make you more athletic by developing speed, endurance, and flexibility.

No-GI Submission Grappling

We offer classes in both GI and No-GI, with the difference being in the type of training uniform. The change in uniforms alters the options for holding and submitting an opponent. The ability to grab material in GI makes you extremely aware of your positions and control, while No-GI is limited in what you can grab and provides for a faster pace overall.

Self Defense

Learn from a complete BJJ training program that deals with both standing and ground fighting, with emphasis put on grappling techniques to dominate and control a strong and aggressive opponent. It is a well-known fact that most fights end up on the ground and having the proper self-defense training can make all the difference in the world.

Competition BJJ

We provide competition training for individuals who want to test themselves in the Sport of BJJ. The student will learn the rules, techniques, and strategies necessary to excel in the tournament circuit. The training regimen will be more intense and strenuous compared to a normal Jiu-Jitsu class.

No Experience Necessary!

Our Fundamental classes are specifically designed to get a new Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu student to a level of health and skill that can be improved on. Whatever your goals, we will show you how to use Jiu-Jitsu to get maximum results.

All our classes follow a curriculum to provide the new student with a training system that establishes and builds on a set of core techniques and movements for each of the positions. This foundation will be improved upon as they excel to higher belt levels.

Classes will be structured to ensure that each student gets the most from his/her training session. Mass Bay BJJ has put together classes that will have you learning core skills, sweating and getting in shape, and of course FUN!

Each student will receive first-rate instruction and a friendly environment in which to learn. Our highly trained Instructors have years of experience teaching in Gracie-style Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. We are committed to making sure each student develops their skills technically and physically.

Our Instructors know the importance of teaching fundamental techniques. Over time, the core moves will provide students with an understanding of positions and enable them to make small adjustments to the techniques and movements as they progress through the belt ranks.
